getting an assessment
there are multiple ways to get a dyslexia assessment.

contacting your local GP and discussing your concerns is one option. they will then add you to a waiting list for an assessment.
​
BDA also offer dyslexia assessments for both individuals and corporate.
​
universities also offer assessments within their student services, which more often than not have a fee. some universities have grants from funding bodies to cover the cost.

what to expect
during your assessment:

there will be an informal chat to discuss any background information

your assessor will carry out a series of tests to explore your abilities such as; reading, writing and spelling. handwriting and motor skills. phonological awareness, speed of processing and memory, speech and language and auditory processing.

each individual test will last around 15 minutes, getting more complex as you progress.
after your assessment

you will receive a written report which will provide evidence of your dyslexic profile.

The report will include some recommendations about how to support you in the context of your study, the workplace or day-to-day life.
